Audio Damage has released its newest product, the Ratshack
Reverb VST plug-in for OS X and Windows XP.
Ratshack Reverb is an emulation of the Realistic Electronic Reverb. From the
user interface, which follows the original in every way, on down to the quirks
of its operation, Audio Damage has modeled the Realistic unit down to the most
minute detail.
As anyone who has owned the actual unit knows, the original is not a reverb
at all, but rather an analog “bucket-brigade” delay. The Audio Damage emulation
mirrors the sound of the unit precisely, and even includes the extreme input
distortion obtainable by running a line-level signal in to the microphone input.
From subtle vocal doubling to extreme runaway feedback, the Ratshack Reverb
is a Swiss Army knife of lo-fi effects.
Ratshack Reverb has an MSRP of US$29.99, and is available from the Audio Damage
website as a digital download purchase.
